Knitting 101: Blocking

So, I finally blocked an item for the first time ever. I know, right? What a difference! I'm making a wristlet for Debbie. She is going to send me fabric to line it before I sew it up. Then I'll add a button or toggle of some sort on the flap, and an icord for the wrist strap.

Check out these before and after photos of the blocking process:

Before - note the wonky stitches and how the ends curl up from the stockinette
After - Flat, uniform, and stretched to a nice size!
Before - Folded into the shap it'll be in, but looks hideous and tiny!

After - will fit your phone, credit card, and some cash in style!
Can't wait to see the fabric that Debbie picks out and to finish this one off!

I'm up for suggestions on fabric :-) also, Jen, whats the size in inches, so I know how much to buy.

CUTE! I think you should get a fun print with some bits of that teal in the pattern, Deb.
