2 Months!

Nora is two months old today - which seems impossibly short.  I love that she was born just before we moved - it really makes it feel like she's been part of our family forever since we all moved into the house together.

But, her teeny tiny-ness reminds me that it's not true!  We just got back from the doctor, and she's sleeping peacefully after having 2 shots.  She was unappreciative of the weighing, measuring, and poking.  Ha!

Stats:
Weight: 10lb 9oz (about 35-40%)
Height: 23" (about 75%)
Head: 38cm (about 50%)

According to my old blog posts, Nora is even smaller than Joseph (though the percentiles change since she's a girl).  Luckily she is not fussy, nor does she spit up a lot, so I don't have to give up my ice cream this go-round.  I'm wise enough now to accept that my kids will not be on the big end (or probably even the small end!) of the charts, so I don't worry much about it.

The doc said she had wonderful head control and looked great.

Our DomerBabies

Yesterday, Joseph was crawling into our (non-working) fireplace and saying he was going in the grotto.  I guess that "First Notre Dame Words" book really did indoctrinate him!  He is a little domer already!

Here are some game day photos from tonight's bowl game:

I'm Such a Primate

Poor Nora has been suffering from congestion all week.  Luckily I got a NoseFrida this time around.

It is SO satisfying to get all that gunk out so she can breathe again!  And wonderful to not be losing sleep every night because my newborn is so stuffed that she can't nurse.

Nora HATES the thing, which is actually good because otherwise it could become addicting to see how much gunk you can get out!

I am such a primate... nothing makes me happier than grooming my family.  Haha!

We're still here!

Can you believe that between moving, having a baby, and having a toddler I'm just not finding time to post regularly?  It would be a pathetic excuse, except that the times of day when I was used to doing posts I am not one-handed, holding a baby.  Internet surfing = easy.  Typing = hard.

I've been taking and posting pictures somewhat regularly on smugmug, so check there for pics until I get myself back to it!

Nora is beautiful, and thriving.  She is such a good little girl.  She sleeps pretty well (for a newborn) and is mostly content.  She has, unfortunately, developed a preference for me in the last week.  Sigh.  I wish babies would express their preference in extra smiles for mama instead of wails when mama leaves.  T.J. is a tough cookie, though, and has been great about taking on both of the kids while I get out to do some stuff with my new mom's group (a Christmas party AND knitting in the last week!).

Joseph is a phenomenal big brother.  He has never once done anything mean to Nora.  The worst is that he "cries" like her when we change his diaper. :P  He's also developed a bit of an independent streak since Nora arrived and we moved.  He regularly heads up to the playroom on the 3rd floor by himself to play with his cars and trains!  I feel like I'm letting him down a lot, lately - there is so little time to devote to playing with all normal housework/errands plus new house tasks plus Nora.  Instead, I've been focusing on taking him out for a daily walk.  It's good for all three of us, and we all enjoy it and are meeting lots of neighbors this way!  We're going to visit a potential preschool on Thursday (gasp!) and we're planning to enroll him for January.  Yikes.  I have to admit that I'm terrified.

T.J. is working hard, as always, but now he's got a lot more on his plate at home.  Hopefully I'll be in a position to lighten his load at home soon, as Nora gets older and we get more settled in.

So that's it... be patient, I'm sure I'll be back to more regular posting soon!
