Playdate Fun

Today we went to this super awesome indoor play center with our mom's group. Joseph and I *both* had a great time!

Just like the Olympics, right?

Let's play "sit on Mama's lap"

Baby? What baby? No baby here.

Bouncy time!

Pumpkin Head

We went to a pumpkin patch on Monday with our play group. It was an easy 45 minute drive, and Joseph slept the whole way! When we got there, we had a few minutes for photos before hopping on the hay ride that took us out to the pumpkins. There we tortured the toddlers and then took them back for lunch at the picnic area. Joseph's favorite part was after everyone else left and he got to play on the tractor.

One of 2 smiles all day.
Cute photo op before the hayride meltdowns
I guess he's not impressed with hay rides yet.

Hey, kid, this is supposed to be *fun*
Extremely displeased that I detached myself from him.
At least the moms had a good time!

Get out of my way, people! Serious work happening here.
We're leaving? Great, I can smile now!

Aquarium Trip

We went to the aquarium today with our friends Celia and Kairavi. They had never been and it was really fun to see how much Kairavi enjoyed it. She waved bye-bye to all the animal exhibits, and everything she saw was "OH! OH!" with wide eyes. Adorable!

Joseph had fun, too, despite trying to escape from the mama-razzi.

It's good being a mom

I hosted a mom's group event today, and it was so fun! Everyone brought their wedding albums, I made a wedding cake, and we drank mimosas. The kids got fruit and/or cake, depending on how nice their moms were. Joseph did not get cake, because I'm mean (and he had a banana split yesterday).

I highly recommend this for anyone wanting to host a party - it was so fun to relive and retell our stories with new friends!

Ironically, almost everyone here had a June wedding. Happy anniversaries to us!

The goods: Wedding cake, Mimosas, and Fruit

Nope, that's not really his sippy cup!

I'm pretty sure he stole the cup from Jackson. Poor little guy.

She's gonna be a big sister (see her mama in the background!)

Playdate Fun

We had a "Memorial Day" playdate on Monday, and all the kids looked great in their red-white-and blues!

This is what he looks like if I don't let him hang on my leg for a while.
Love this one of Vivian - isn't she precious?

My mom's group had our one year anniversary party today. I made the slide show. If you like babies, you'll love seeing this!

Urban Garden Party

Joseph and I hosted a party for our play group at our complex's "Urban Garden". It was very fun, the weather was gorgeous, and the kids enjoyed rolling around the tennis courts!

This is Joseph's friend Megan. Megan loves Joseph.

Sometimes, Megan loves Joseph a liiiittle too much.

But that day, it was just right! Aren't they cute?

Easter Playdate

Joseph and I went to our friends Whitney and Will's house last Friday to dye eggs - so fun!

I forgot to take pictures of our eggs before turning most of them into deviled eggs, but I got a few of them.

Happy St. Paddy's Day!

We had a playdate at Lily's house today. Lily is going to be in the same class at Notre Dame as Joseph! Her mom is Irish (you know, the country) and her dad's family are die-hard Catholic ND fans. Put it together and what else would you expect?

Classic, as always.

Joseph and Lily

I watched a friend's baby for a couple hours the other day and it was so fun! She makes Joseph seem like such a "big boy". Scary!

Rachel dropped Lily off while Joseph was asleep, so when he woke up I brought her in with me to get him. He looked at her and got a HUGE grin on his face! I put her on the bed to hang with him and he was just all smiles and giggles immediately. He usually needs a few minutes to get the grumpies out when he wakes up, so it was spectacular.

He woke up just as I was going to feed her, so I put him on the floor with his toys and sat down with her in the boppy to give her the bottle. I thought he might be jealous seeing me feed another baby in "his" position, but he just thought it was the best thing ever. Smiling and giggling like crazy. She ate for about 25 minutes, and he was completely fine the whole time. Amazing.

Here are some photos of them "playing" together after her bottle:

Utter concentration on the task at hand
See, Lily? This is how you eat the gym!
Dont' let him too close - did you see those teeth?
Aw, Joseph is such a big boy!
